Online Clean Room (2004)

Worked with EA IT to provision a clean room space for online performance testing EA’s titles using network emulation tools and real-world internet. I was essentially off-grid in a special room inside of EA where I tested all of EA’s online-capable titles.

I worked directly with other studio testing departments to handle games they were not equipped for (Burnout, Fight Night, etc.), worked directly with online developers to resolve performance issues, consulted with certification groups on router and port configuration issues, helped EA Singapore set up their own clean room, and built special relationships with EA’s central online dev teams.

EA Sports Online (2003)

Got my start in EA QA testing the full suite of EA Sports online titles — FIFA, Madden, NBA Live, NHL, and NCAA — during the early days of console online play. I verified online connectivity, matchmaking, and head-to-head features across platforms, surfacing the kinds of network and performance issues that led directly into the dedicated online clean room work that followed.
